Suwannee River Florida Kayak and Camping Adventure*Only available for custom dates and groups

The 170 mile Suwannee River Wilderness Trail begins in White Springs, Florida. The gentle flow makes for easy kayaking and the camping sites are beautiful. Kayaking on the upper Suwannee takes you through the towering pines and stately cypress that line the river banks and high bluffs. The slow current makes it ideal for beginners to get down the river without having to exhaust themselves.
The middle stretch from Suwannee River State Park to the town of Branford is spring country. The river widens, with numerous springs an small shoals adding to its character. On hot days, spring hopping is a popular pastime for paddlers and boaters who stop to enjoy a cool dip in the clear spring waters.
Our trip will take us from the Stephen Foster State Park, where we will meet and stay in cabins the night before the trip, to Lafayette Blue Springs State Park. A total of about 66 miles over 4 days that is suitable for canoes or kayaks.
Camping along the Suwannee is in the river camps that the state of Florida has built for the trail with three nights at Florida State Park cabins. The river camps are hardly camping to some! They have screened in sleeping rooms, complete with a light and ceiling fan. Other amenities include bath houses with flush toilets, hot showers, picnic tables, electric outlets and running water, right next to your campsite! This is a great introduction to camping without needing to really "rough it."
