Discover Northern Forest Canoe Trail with AE Adventures
Canoeing through the Adirondacks on this classic trip is an incredible experience. We spend the days paddling, doing side hikes, fishing and relaxing with evenings spent in traditional Adirondack lean-tos or tent sites. Our route starts at the beginning of the trail in Old Forge, NY and ends at Forked Lake in a more remote part of the trail. Along the way you’ll see grand Adirondack resorts and Adirondack Great Camps before we get to the section with more wilderness and wildlife. This is a canoe only trip due to the portages. Custom trips with kayaks can be designed.
The Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) is the longest paddling trail in the nation and winds from Old Forge, New York through Vermont, Quebec, and New Hampshire to Fort Kent, Maine. In 2011 the Trail was named “Best Canoe Trail” by Outside Magazine, and in 2012 the magazine named the Trail a “Best East Coast Adventure.”
